Be sure to read\n[Android TV app quality](/docs/quality-guidelines/tv-app-quality) for information on\nthe usability and quality standards that your apps should meet. When your app is ready, you can\nopt-in for designation as an Android TV app from the Play Console.\n\n### Opt-in to Android TV and publish\n\n\nAfter you build your release-ready app and test to ensure that it\nmeets all of the\n[Android TV app\nquality](/docs/quality-guidelines/tv-app-quality) criteria, upload it to the Play Console. Note that\nyou must upload at least one Android TV screenshot before opting in for\nAndroid TV app quality review. You also need to mention Android TV\nin your app's store listing for your app to pass the review process.\n\n\nAfter you opt-in and save changes, you can publish your app as\nusual. Google Play then submits your app for review against the [criteria](/docs/quality-guidelines/tv-app-quality) and\nnotifies you of the result. Enable the Android TV form factor, as described in the following steps:\n 1. In the **All Applications** page, click the app you want to opt-in.\n 2. Under **Setup** , enter the **Advanced Settings** page.\n 3. In the **Form Factors** tab, click **Add Release Type**.\n 4. Select **Android TV**.\n2. Follow the instructions for opting into Android TV:\n 1. Mention Android TV in the description of your app's store listing.\n 2. Add an [Android TV banner graphic](/training/tv/start/start#banner) to the app's store listing.\n 4. Upload Android app bundle or APK files.\n 5. Opt-in to Android TV and agree to the review policy.\n3. Click **Start rollout**.\n| **Caution:** Double check that you haven't missed any of the requirements above. Otherwise your app may be rejected during app review.\n\n### Track your review and approval\n\n\nIf your app meets the technical and quality criteria for Android TV, as\ndescribed above, your app will be made discoverable for users on Android TV\ndevices. If your app doesn't meet the criteria, you'll receive a\nnotification email sent to your developer account address with a\nsummary of the areas that you need to address. When you've made the\nnecessary adjustments, you can upload a new version of your app for\nreview.\n\n\nAt any time, you can check the review and approval status of your app in\nthe Play Console, under **Android TV** in the app's **Pricing and\nDistribution** page.\n\n\nThere are three approval states:\n\n- **Pending** --- Your app was sent for review and the review is not yet complete.\n- **Approved** --- Your app was reviewed and approved. The app will be made discoverable to Android TV users.\n- **Not approved** --- Your app was reviewed and not approved. Check the notification email for information about why the app was not approved.
